Job Description

Role Purpose 

The Senior Project Manager is accountable for the end-to-end delivery of medium to large, moderate to high complexity projects, partnering with clients and internal stakeholders to achieve agreed outcomes. This role will be a direct report to the Chief Delivery Officer. 

Key Responsibilities 

Project Delivery Capability 

  • Leads end-to-end delivery of medium to large, moderate to complex projects. 

  • Demonstrates accountability for delivery outcomes rather than activity completion. 

  • Adapts delivery approach and methodology to context while maintaining delivery discipline. 

  • Anticipates delivery risks and constraints and adjusts plans proactively. 

Stakeholder & Customer Outcome Capability 

  • Acts as a trusted delivery partner to customers and senior stakeholders. 

  • Manages high exposure stakeholder relationships with confidence and credibility. 

  • Balances competing stakeholder priorities while maintaining focus on agreed outcomes. 

  • Maintains transparency to support informed decision making and trust. 

  • Deliver complex projects that achieve agreed customer outcomes and commercial objectives. 

  • Influence stakeholders and delivery teams to maintain momentum and confidence. 

Governance, Risk & Financial Capability 

  • Operates effectively within established governance frameworks and forums. 

  • Owns delivery risk posture, including identification, assessment, mitigation, and escalation. 

  • Demonstrates financial accountability through budgeting, forecasting, and variance management. 

  • Exercises judgment on when to escalate risks, issues, or decisions beyond delegated authority. 

Leadership & Delivery Enablement Capability 

  • Provides leadership to delivery teams, setting direction and enabling performance. 

  • Resolves delivery impediments through decision making, influence, and escalation where required. 

  • Coaches and supports team members to contribute effectively to delivery outcomes. 

  • Fosters an outcome focused, accountable delivery culture. 

  • Providing leadership to delivery teams while ensuring projects are governed, controlled, and delivered in line with organisational standards.

  • Manages complexity through effective scope definition, traceability, and change control.

  • Communicates effectively across operational, technical, and client business audiences. 

  • Produces accurate, timely reporting that supports governance and decision making. 

  • Translates delivery status, risks, and impacts into clear, actionable insights. 

  • Maintains confidence through consistent, transparent communication. 

Level of Autonomy & Decision Making 

  • Makes delivery decisions independently within agreed governance boundaries. 

  • Escalates material risks, issues, or decisions that exceed delegated authority.

Essential 

  • Demonstrated experience (8+ years) delivering medium to large, moderate to complex projects. 

  • Strong client facing and stakeholder management capability. 

  • Proven ability to lead and motivate delivery teams. 

  • Advanced communication, reporting, and influencing skills. 

  • Demonstrated experience delivering SaaS software development and implementation projects. 

  • Strong understanding of SaaS delivery models, including platform/product enhancement, configuration, integration, and release management. 

  • Ability to work effectively with cross delivery Engineering, Product, QA, Architecture, and DevOps teams. 

  • Demonstrated experience delivering in hybrid‑agile environments, combining Agile delivery with enterprise governance. 

  • Strong planning, dependency management, and forecasting skills. 

  • Ability to translate Agile delivery progress into clear milestones and outcomes for enterprise stakeholders. 

  • Experience managing project budgets, forecasts, and delivery margin. 

Desirable 

  • Experience in consulting or professional services environments. 

  • Exposure to multiple delivery methodologies and governance models. 

  • Experience in delivery projects in the Financial Services / Insurance Sector. 

  • Formal Project Management certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, SAFe, or equivalent).
